UBC’s transition to a distributed multiple Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC) structure is on-target to be completed this November. During October, RMS will meet with the remaining Faculties and departments to enable them to begin their own JOHSC meetings. This will complete the technical part of this campus-wide transition.
The next step will be helping each of the identified JOHSCs work within their areas to model the strengthened safety culture. RMS will be working closely with all identified JOHSCs to assist in successfully recruiting their JOHSC members and holding their first meetings by the start of the new year.
