WorkSafeBC can inspect any UBC site. This section shares, tracks, and archives our official communications with WorkSafeBC. Follow-up corrective actions may be required to address inspection reports.


On-site Hand-Arm Vibration Testing of Workers by WSBC – Thunderbird Residence

Inspection Report (IR) issued to document the on-site testing by WSBC of hand-arm vibrations while workers demonstrated a power washer under various conditions. A report detailing the vibration results will follow.

Full Investigation Report Received by WSBC (hand injury – auto floor scrubber) – IRC Building

Inspection Report (IR) issued to document the receipt and acceptance of the employer’s full incident investigation report (EIIR) relating to an incident which occurred on May 28, 2019. Refer to Inspection Report 201918447049A for additional information.

Full Investigation Required by WSBC (hand injury – auto floor scrubber) – IRC Building

By June 27, 2019, the employer must submit the full incident investigation report (EIIR) to the Board - Worker was operating an auto floor scrubber in the IRC Building and injured hand

Full Investigation Report Received by WSBC (electrical fire) – Dorothy Somerset Studios

This Inspection Report is issued to document the receipt (date: April 26, 2019) and acceptance of the employer's full Incident Investigation Report (EIIR), relating to an incident which occurred on March 28, 2019.

Compliance Achieved (injury to workers struck by large wave) – Calvert Island (Central BC Coast)

This was a follow up inspection to authenticate appropriate compliance with the order(s) noted.
